Following the success of CTC’s introductory Directors’ Lab in January, we are offering another weekend of intensive workshops with Jane Montgomery Griffiths in our Directors’ Lab 2. For directors with some experience, or those who completed Directors’ Lab 1, this workshop will be a 3-day intensive taking a deep dive into Ibsen’s ‘Hedda Gabler’. Covering topics from choosing your translation or adaptation, to building your creative team, working out design, casting and working with actors on scenes, this workshop will take you through the full process from initial thoughts through to creating a performance ready production.
Jane Montgomery Griffiths is a multi-award winning actor and playwright and former Professor of Theatre Practice at Monash University. As an actor, she has worked at MTC, Malthouse, Belvoir, Redstitch, Theatreworks and Bell Shakespeare as well as numerous TV roles. Her plays have been performed at Malthouse, Belvoir, Victorian Opera and for ABC Radio National. Jane’s last project was The Ravens’ production of ‘The Seagull’.
